Facade Inspection
The City of Milwaukee has implemented an ordinance that requires owners of buildings that are five stories or greater to have an inspection performed to determine if the facade of their building is in safe condition.
Let’s protect your structure before small issues become big ones.
What is Facade Inspection?
Facade inspections typically begin with a thorough visual assessment from ground level and lift platforms. A trained professional examines brick, stone, mortar, sealants, flashings, and structural components for signs of deterioration or movement. If issues are found, the inspector documents them, often with photos and notes, and helps the owner understand the severity and recommended next steps. These inspections can also include coordination with engineers and architects when required by city code or for complex buildings.
Common Repair Triggers:
- Cracks, chips, or pieces falling from the exterior
- Loose or bulging masonry you can see from the street level
- Water stains on interior or exterior walls
- Rust or discoloration on the façade
- Window or door surrounds that look uneven or cracked
- Peeling paint or blistering finishes on exterior walls
- Any visible loose mortar or masonry materials
