Masonry Restoration, Inc. completed a multi-year stone restoration project at Birge Hall and Chamberlin Hall on the UW-Madison campus. The work included complete parapet reconstruction, extensive stone restoration across the facades, and the replacement of significant limestone sections. Additionally, precise Dutchman repairs and full facade repointing were carried out to preserve the historic integrity of these landmark buildings.
At the start of the project, Masonry Restoration, Inc. examined areas requiring repair. Work included Historic Preservation, Stone & Terra Cotta Restoration, Flashing Remediation, Masonry Rebuilding, Glazing, and Sealant Replacement, carried out to correct deterioration across affected areas. This process supported a more resilient and predictable exterior system.
The updated exterior systems now offer improved moisture resistance and long-term reliability.
