As visitors and new residents flocked to the lake, the city constructed the Riviera, a multipurpose lakefront pavilion featuring shops, a boat-ticket booth, ground-floor dressing rooms for swimmers, and a dance hall upstairs. A large, three-armed pier provided boat moorings. After decades of moisture intrusion, Masonry Restoration, Inc. was engaged to restore the entire exterior. Completed during the winter months to avoid disruption to its busy season, the project included extensive repointing, reconstruction of arch parapet walls, concrete restoration, and installation of PUMA membrane on the balconies.
Our team started by examining materials affected by weather exposure. Our team performed Historic Preservation, Stone & Terra Cotta Restoration, Membranes and Coatings, and Masonry Rebuilding to address the deficiencies identified during assessment. These efforts improved the stability and durability of the building envelope.
As a result of the repairs, the facade provides more reliable protection against moisture.
