The Grain Exchange, built in 1935 by the Chamber of Commerce to succeed the Mackie Building as its headquarters, is a landmark example of early 20th-century commercial architecture. Masonry Restoration, Inc. Was engaged to rebuild large sections of limestone, repair steel lintels, perform stone patching, repoint masonry, and complete sealant replacement. The project was completed six months ahead of schedule, preserving both the buildings historic character and structural integrity.
Crews initiated the project by reviewing exterior conditions in detail. Work included Historic Preservation, Stone & Terra Cotta Restoration, Repointing, carried out to correct deterioration across affected areas. The completed work helped maintain compatibility among restored materials.
Repairs helped stabilize compromised materials, supporting better long-term building performance.
