The Cudahy towers were built in 1909, with additions in 1929, by philanthropist Patrick Cudahy. The buildings are comprised mainly of white marble, glazed brick and terra cotta. Masonry Restoration, Inc. Was tasked with rebuilding of the terra cotta flat arches above the window systems, porches and parapets, extensive tuckpointing and complete sealant replacement.
At the start of the project, Masonry Restoration, Inc. examined areas requiring repair. Technicians executed Facade Inspection, Masonry Rebuilding, Stone & Terra Cotta Restoration, Tuckpointing / Repointing to resolve issues related to material wear and exposure. This process supported a more resilient and predictable exterior system.
As a result of the repairs, the facade provides more reliable protection against moisture.
